About Daniel Jaffe

Daniel Jaffe is an experienced trial attorney practicing in Maricopa County Arizona.

DUI EXPERIENCE: Mr. Jaffe is an experienced Arizona DUI Defense Lawyer. His background covers DUI law, science, courtroom and trial technique. In his experience, many officers do not follow proper field sobriety test procedure, and make concessions when confronted with the proper way of administering and scoring the tests.  Many people plead guilty prematurely based on a failed breath or blood test.  Mr. Jaffe knows that this is often a grave mistake, as there is always a chance to have the chemical evidence suppressed or to challenge it's application or scientific validity, to challenge the basis for the stop and arrest, and to allow the prosecutor to make a mistake.

COURTROOM EXPERIENCE: Mr. Jaffe is a veteran of many DUI trials and evidentiary hearings. He knows that cases can be won or lost in the pretrial investigation stage. He believes that the single most part of any trial is actually the interview with the police officers and the State's expert witnesses. He realizes that in order to have the best chance of success during a DUI trial, both the lawyer and client need to be well prepared. However, preparation is never enough. A courtroom DUI attorney must be able to recognize weaknesses and mistakes in the State's case and know how to capitalize on them to the client's advantage.

BLOOD DRAW EXPERIENCE: Mr. Jaffe once worked as a doctor's assistant. As a phlebotomist, he drew blood from an average of eight patients a day. As blood tests in the DUI setting became more pervasive, Mr. Jaffe found that his experience helped him understand the procedures and protocols associated with extracting the BAC specimen.

FIELD SOBRIETY TEST EXPERIENCE: In 2001, Mr. Jaffe successfully completed training in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests recommended by NHTSA. This training, the same training police officers take, widened his perspective on the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test (Eye Test), the walk and Turn Test, and the One Leg Stand Test. By knowing what the officers know, and knowing it better than most officers, Mr. Jaffe is able to impeach their credibility when cops administer the tests wrong.

SMALL PRACTICE, DEDICATED CLIENT BASE: Mr. Jaffe keeps his DUI Defense Practice small by choice, and sets his fees such that he can give each client's case the attention it needs. By accepting fewer clients he is able to give each client the attention and focus necessary to effectively defend against a DUI charge. He is regularly recommended by other attorneys, police officers and judges to their friends and family members facing DUI charges in Maricopa County.

NETWORK: When appropriate, Mr. Jaffe calls on a network of experts who can help clarify issues that permeate various aspects of a DUI charge. Mr. Jaffe also regularly consults and collaborates with other leading DUI defense lawyer throughout the nation. When he doesn't know the answer, he is not afraid to ask for the input of other professionals.

MEMBERSHIPS AND AFFILIATIONS: Mr. Jaffe is a member of the National College For DUI Defense, State Bar Of Arizona, Arizona Attorneys For Criminal Justice, Arizona Trial Lawyers' Association, the American Bar Association, the Arizona Bar Trial Practice Section, the State Bar Of Arizona Criminal Justice Section, the ABA Criminal Justice Section, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and is also admitted to practice law in Washington State. He regularly attends continuing legal education seminars focusing on DUI defense, and other aspects of criminal litigation.

APPROACHABLE: Mr. Jaffe is personable and approachable, and is happy to provide a no-obligation case evaluation to those who are unrepresented and serious about retaining private counsel, so that you can get to know him before making your choice of which DUI attorney to hire.

FOCUSED EXPERIENCE : At 35 years old, Mr. Jaffe has been admitted to practice law for 9.5 years. During law school he worked as a prosecuting intern in the Pima County Attorney's Office in Tucson, during which he was given a full case-load and tried more cases than many lawyers do during their first several years of practice. Since graduating from the University of Arizona and passing the bar exam, he has devoted his career to defending people accused of impaired driving.

EMPATHY AND A PASSION FOR WINNING: Daniel Jaffe knows what it takes to win a DUI case.  He knows the real stress, uncertainty, fear and pain that come with a DUI charge.  He knows that the political climate disfavors those accused of DUI.  He knows that every case involves a fight, and he fights hard for each client, every day.
